Chris Bungard talks to Kingdom MMA ahead of FFC: Full Force main event with Keiran Malone

ONE of Scotland's top promotions is gearing up for its next show on February 20 and it is set to be headlined by a firecracker main event.

Lightweight duo Chris 'The Bad Guy' Bungard (4-0) and Kieran 'The Hater' Malone (5-8) will clash in a tasty Scottish showdown at Firstfighting Championship (FFC): Full Force at  Motherwell's Alona  Hotel.

The match up has been a long time coming, with both trading insults back and forth over social media.

Fighting out of the Scottish Hit Squad, Bungard spoke to Kingdom MMA, explaining the simmering feud.

Bungard said: “When I first started MMA Kieran was a guy I always spoke to at shows and we got on okay. But last year he disrespected my coaches and team and spoke some shit about us so that has earned him a first class ass whooping on February 20”

Dinky Ninja Malone has faced some stiff competition in his pro career and Bungard insists he knows what he is in for come fight night and is looking to make it five straight first round stoppages in his pro career.

He said: “This will be my toughest fight to date. He's one of the best lightweights in Scotland and comes from one of the best gyms in the UK so it will make it even sweeter when I excellently execute another first round stoppage.”

Bungard hasn't only drawn the ire of Malone, with several other Scottish professionals publicly calling for a fight with the undefeated lightweight. But he insists that he thrives on other fighters calling him out.

He said: “As for people calling me out? I love that shit. It means I'll never struggle to find a fight. One by one I'll take them out until I'm the number one in Scotland.

“There's a lot of talk about a fight with the “Edinburger inbred' Danny Henry, but I'm not looking any further than Kieran at the moment that would be silly.

“I do rate Kieran as a fighter. He's lost to some good guys but on the other hand he's lost to some poor guys too so we'll see how he deals with my barmy army on fight night. No pressure Kieran.”

Bungard reckons that strong wrestler, Malone, will struggle to cope on fight night.

He said: “He'll want to stand with me until I connect with him. His wrestling is good but I see holes in his game that I'm going to exploit.

“He'll probably get me down but can he keep me there? No chance. He will fall in one. 5-0”
