Tom Breese set for November return at Cage Warriors 74 in London

“I’m back. I want to make my mark on the division as soon as I step into it.”

Following a long-term lay-off due to a serious knee injury, Tom Breese will compete for the first time in nearly two years at CWFC 74 at London's Copper Box on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

Undefeated English welterweight prospect Tom Breese (6-0) has set a date for his highly-anticipated return to competition.

Having endured a frustrating lay-off due to a serious knee injury, Breese will be back in action on Saturday, November 15, when Cage Warriors Fighting Championship visits London’s Olympic Park to stage CWFC 74 at the Copper Box Arena.

A 22-year-old Birmingham native, Breese was rewarded with an exclusive five-fight Cage Warriors deal in April of last year, after clinching the British welterweight title for domestic promotion BAMMA.

However, while preparing for his CWFC debut - which was scheduled for Cage Warriors 59 in Cardiff last September - Breese suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which has kept him on the sidelines ever since.

The former British junior wrestling champion subsequently underwent surgery but is now at the end of an arduous programme of rehabilitation, with his long-awaited Cage Warriors bow finally on the horizon.

A former training partner of ex-UFC champion Georges St Pierre at the renowned Tristar gym in Canada, Breese has also recently returned from California where he was a sparring partner for Tom Watson in the build-up to his UFC win over Sam Alvey earlier this month.

Breese, who has taken all six of his professional wins inside the distance, will join CWFC’s 170lbs division, arguably the promotion’s strongest, but he told Cage Warriors TV that he’s keen to challenge the top welterweight contenders:

“It’s very exciting. There are so many different styles, so many exciting match-ups; I can’t wait to fight these guys. Cage Warriors is growing all the time so it’s going to be great to be part of the journey. I’m ready to fight. I feel great.”
