With MMA continuing to grow into one of the world's biggest sports, World Series of Fighting officials have announced a new initiative to tap into talent from grass roots MMA.

By launching the World Series of Fighting U.S. National Amateur Division in 2015 they look to find and create future stars of the sport, providing fighters with a much clearer path to the big stage.

The National division will be split into four sub-regions: East, South, Mountain and West. Which is much similar to how other major US sports are formulated e.g. NFL, MLS, NBA.

President Ray Sefo has announced that all winners of the World Series of Fighting U.S. National Amateur Division will receive a multi-year, multi-fight contract with the promotion, with the opportunity to make their professional debuts on live national television; NBC Sports Network (NBCSN).

"We are proud to launch this exciting new division of World Series of Fighting and, through this, we will maintain the goal of finding the absolute best new talent that exists in the U.S.

For the first time in history, amateur fighters who have the desire and the drive to turn professional and make a career for themselves in MMA, will be given a distinct path that will allow them to attain their goals of becoming future superstars in the professional ranks of our incredible sport.”

Additional information regarding the World Series of Fighting U.S. National Amateur Division will be announced soon.
