The UFC returns to Brazil as a heavyweight showdown between Antonio "Big Foot" Silva and Andrei Arlovski headlines the card. I'm here once more to give you some advice and a few bets to hopefully get the cash rolling in. Today I'm going to give you three bets I like for this card with the usual parlay bet, a risky treble and as always my underdog of the card bet.
Note, these tips are for guidance only. Please bet sensible and only if you can afford to lose - I will not be held responsible, if you lose you house, wife, dignity or self respect.
First up we have the parlay.
Bet One
Gleison Tibau 8/15
Santiago Ponzinibbio EVS
Jessica Andrade 10/11
Igor Araujo 4/7
Iuri Alcantara 2/5
There is never ever a safe bet but I really like this one when looking at the fights here I think there is a great chance this comes in, however a few of the fights are very close. Not taking away anything from Piotr Hallmann but Gleison Tibau's vast UFC experience and superior grappling should get him the win here.
Up next is Argentina's Santiago Ponzinibbio who will be competing in his second bout in the world famous octagon. If Ponzinibbio's Gas tank has improved which really hurt him in his debut against Ryan LaFlare along with his bad takedown defence he could force a stoppage here as he has very heavy hands.
Next up is Jessica Andrade who faces a very tough match up against the unbeaten Larissa Pacheco as good as Pacheco is I just feel Andrade is a little bit better everywhere, except from possibly the ground game but I feel she has good enough takedown defence to stifle Pacheco's attempts for the Takedown.
Again another risky pick is Ultimate Fighter veteran Igor Araujo takes on journeyman George Sullivan the only thing which really worries me about Araujo is his bad cardio which he showed in his last fight in London. However, he has great takedowns and a very heavy top game and is always looking for the submission.
As impressed as I have been with Russell Doane's short UFC career with some fantastic wins this is a very big step up in competition against Iuri Alcantara who is one of the toughest guys in the division and I think this step up is a bit early for Doane so I side with Alcantara. A £5 stake returns a nice profit of £64 so If you choose to go with this I wish you all the best.
Bet Two
Leandro Silva 6/4
Rani Yahya 11/8
Escudero/Santos over 2.5 rounds 11/10
A risky treble here as I'm taking a few underdogs Leandro Silva is making his UFC debut against grizzled veteran Francisco Trinaldo if Silva gets past round 1 it is his fight from here on in. Next I have Rani Yahya to beat the always tough Johnny Bedford but I just like the match up for Yahya and think he gets the decision victory and lastly I have Efrain Escudero and Leonardo Santos to fight 2.5 round which has a great chance off going over 2.5 rounds. Again a £5 Stake gets you a return of around £62 but as I said at the start this is a risky bet and maybe a smaller stake bet would suit here.
Underdog Bet
For my underdog of the card I have chosen Leandro Silva he has everything in his Arsenal to win this fight as long as he doesn't engage in a ground war with "Massaranduba" he may be able to stop him late in the fight. Also keep an eye on Dashon Johnson who has odds of 11/8 against Godofredo Pepey who in fights has struggled against decent strikers and with Johnson's boxing background he may cause Pepey some problems.
So there are a few bets for this weekends UFC event as always this is just some advice and always bet within your means and I will be back for UFC Japan next weekend, if you place these bets the best of luck to you.
