After the success of our debut Kountermove tournament, it’s time for the next installment here at Kingdom MMA. If you missed it first time around then here’s how it works, Kountermove is essentially fantasy MMA, pick a team of fighters who you think will win and the fighters are then awarded points based on strikes, takedowns, rounds won, etc.

You can join our Kountermove tournament for Fight Night: Bisping vs. Le with a chance to win $25 right here: http://www.kountermove.com/join/31206-kingdommmas-ufc-fight-night-48-bisping-vs-le-25-freeroll-on-ufc-fight-night-48-bisping-vs-le-T-free/

If you want a chance of winning some money then have a look at who you might want to pick, here are Kingdom MMA’s predictions, our ‘favourite five’ for this Kountermove tournament.

1. Tyron Woodley ($4900) - Woodley (13-3) faces off against Dong Hyun Kim (19-2-1) in a high stakes fight in the UFC’s stacked Welterweight division. ‘The Chosen One’ will be eager to recover instantly from a disappointing decision loss to Rory MacDonald however he has a tough challenge in Kim who enters the fight on the back of a four fight win streak, most recently a ‘Performance of the Night’ victory over John Hathaway in March.

Oddsmakers see this as one of the closest contests of the night but our advice to Kountermove players is to put your faith in Woodley. Kim is an extremely versatile fighter, however he lacks the power to put away some opponents, this is where Woodley will look to expose the Korean. Woodley’s overwhelming physical presence on the feet could be the difference maker, we expect a KO victory for the American.

2. Brendan O’Reilly ($4700) - O’Reilly (5-0) bids for a successful debut in the UFC’s lightweight division against TUF China Winner Lipeng Zhang (7-7-1). O’Reilly made a name for himself in the Australian promotion Fury MMA and will put his undefeated record on the line against Zhang who most recently fought at the Cotai Arena in Macau where he emerged victorious via a controversial split decision over Wang Sai.

Zhang makes the cut from Welterweight and will look to impose a strength advantage, however with O’Reilly fighting out of Gamebred Submission, the Australian will attempt to exploit Zhang’s weakness as the Mongolian has already suffered five defeats via submission. Brendan’s technique on the ground could be the difference and he could prove to be a valuable member of your chosen team.

3. Jianping Yang ($5400) - Kicking off the Fight Pass card is the TUF China featherweight final between Jianping Yang (6-3-1) and Guangyou Ning (3-2-1). Yang rides two first round submission wins into Macau as his opponent Ning looks to build on his TKO victory over Zhouwen Jiang.

Both men were the first pick by their respective coaches, however many believe Jianping to be the favourite going into the fight. Yang has never gone longer than two rounds in his professional career and this may prove to be the deciding factor in the fight, Ning will struggle to deal with the relentless pace Yang possesses, a shoe in for your Kountermove team.

4. Danny Mitchell ($5300) - Heading up the preliminary card is a welterweight matchup between Danny Mitchell (14-5-1) and Sai Wang (6-5-1). ‘The Cheesecake Assassin’ will be in search of his first UFC win after his debut loss to Igor Araujo in March, whilst Sai ‘The Fire Kylin’ Wang will look to avenge his opening UFC loss to Lipeng Zhang.

Wang has alternated from loss to win for his last seven MMA bouts and this could prove to be his downfall when he goes up against the more experienced and consistent fighter in Mitchell. Danny strung together a 5-1 streak before makings his bow in the UFC and with nine of his wins coming via submission, Kountermove players should take advantage of the points he offers, expect a lot of takedowns and a potential submission victory for the Englishman.

You can read our exclusive interview with Danny Mitchell right here.

5. Anying Wang ($4600) - Our wildcard entry could cause an upset as Anying Wang (2-0) bids to spoil Colby Covington’s (5-0) UFC debut. Wang has finished his two professional bouts via TKO (doctor stoppage), whereas UFC newcomer Covington posts an equally unblemished record, with three of his five wins coming via submission.

Whilst Covington in surrounded by welterweight talent such as Hector Lombard and Robbie Lawler at American Top Team, there is no doubt that Anying ‘Smiley’ Wang will be his toughest test to date. The question over Covington will be his ability to whether Wang’s powerful striking ability, Kountermove players should seriously consider Wang when selecting fighters, he could prove to be a cheaper yet valuable asset to earn you some points.
