ONE FC Heavyweight Chi Lewis-Parry Signs for Glory World Series
by Chris Houten - @ChrisHoutenMMAExplosive British heavyweight Chi Lewis Parry has signed for Glory World Series and will make his Glory Debut against Xavier Vigney at Glory 20 Superfight Series 20 in Dubai.
GLORY 20 DUBAI takes place on Friday, April 3 at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and his headlined by Robin Van Roosmalen vs Andy Ristie for the Glory Lightweight World Title. Former UFC Heavyweight Pat Barry will also feature on the card.
A professional mixed martial artist since 2012, following a successful career as a pro basketball player, 31-year-old Chi Lewis-Parry made a name for himself on the domestic scene with a string of dominating performance with promotions such as UCMMA, and Heat Sports (formerly UCW) finishing all five of his opponents before joining leading Asian MMA promotion ONE FC.
6’10”, 265lb Lewis-Parry made his promotional debut for ONE FC against Alain Ngalani at ONE FC 16 where an accidental low blow landed by Lewis-Parry resulted in the bout being declared as a no contest when Ngalani could not continue. Lewis-Parry and Ngalani squared off again at ONE FC 18 where the Brit made no mistake and finished Ngalani by TKO in the first round. The fourth finish from strikes in his career.
Lewis-Parry, who has recently been lobbying for a fight with former UFC star Brandon Vera, will now try fight under Glory Kickboxing rules against Californian talent Xavier Vigney who holds a 6-1 record, with all of his wins coming by KO / TKO.
Standing 6'8" and weighing in at 255lb, Vigney has fought twice under the Glory banner before winning both his fights. The sometime training partner of Nick Diaz, will represent one of the largest fighters Lewis-Parry has faced to date.
