Both Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz make their long-awaited return to the cage at UFC 183 on January 31st and card is beginning to take shape with the announcement of a high-stakes welterweight bout between Kelvin Gastelum (10-0) and Tyron Woodley (14-3).

Just three days removed from UFC 180 in Mexico, where Gastelum picked up his biggest win to date with a first-round submission victory over Jake Ellenberger, the 23-year-old is already booked for his next challenge in Woodley. With five impressive wins already under his belt in the UFC, the undefeated fighter rose from prospect to contender with his latest success and Woodley was immediately considered as the logical step-up before a potential title shot, the UFC evidently agreed.

Woodley is coming off a stunning first-round knockout over Dong Hyun Kim back in August and one more win for 'The Chosen One' would've got him right back into the title picture, however his stock fell dramatically when rumours circulated that he had refused to accept a fight with top contender Hector Lombard. But now that he's back in the mix against a tough competitor in Gastelum, UFC 183 could genuinely have number one contender implications in the welterweight division.

With the addition of this co-main event fight, UFC 183 now includes:

Anderson Silva vs. Nick Diaz
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Tyron Woodley
Thiago Santos vs. Andy Enz
Miesha Tate vs. Sara McMann
Jordan Mein vs. Thiago Alves
Richardson Moreira vs. Ildemar Alcantara
Diego Brandao vs. Jimy Hettes
Rafael Natal vs. Tom Watson
