After a year away from the cage and declining on a three fight losing streak, many assumed the day was coming where Josh Koscheck (17-8) would hang up the gloves. However, it seems the 36-year-old has other ideas.

MMAjunkie first reported the news that discussions were ongoing to match up Koscheck with welterweight prospect Neil Magny (11-3).

Koscheck is one of the few remaining veterans born from The Ultimate Fighter 1 and he's been a top contender in the welterweight division from his early years. After failing at the peak of his career in a title shot against Georges St-Pierre back in 2010, Koscheck has since gone 2-3 in the UFC. With two brutal defeats at the hands of Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley in 2013, we didn't expect to see him fight again.

Meanwhile, Magny shook off a poor UFC beginning after going 1-2 in 2013. The TUF 16 competitor recently tied a record for wins in a calendar year, defeating five men inside the octagon, a feat that calls for high profile fights purely on merit.

With the rumoured bout added to the card, UFC 184 now includes:

- Chris Weidman (c) vs. Vitor Belfort
- Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Cat Zingano
- Frank Mir vs. Antonio Silva
- Yoel Romero vs. Ronaldo Souza
- Josh Koscheck vs. Neil Magny
