The UFC's return to Boston is starting to take shape as a featherweight battle between Charles Rosa (9-1) and Sean Soriano (8-2) has been added to the event.
Rosa made his UFC debut stepping in on short notice against the always tough Dennis Siver, in what many thought would be a very one sided affair. In fact what happened was far from that as Rosa gave a very good account for himself but ultimately lost a unanimous decision. That decision was the first loss in Rosa's pro career however he picked up a $50,000 bonus for fight of the night to ease the pain of losing. This time he will get to show the world what he can do with a full training camp.
His opponent at UFC Fight Night 59 will be Sean Sariano who trains with the Blackzilians came in to the UFC with an 8-0 record and a lot of buzz surrounding him when he made his debut earlier this year in Japan. However his debut didn't go to plan and he was submitted in the second round by Tatsuya Kawajiri. That loss was then followed up with another loss to Chas Skelly in September meaning he comes in to this fight with a lot of pressure if he wants to remain in the UFC.
UFC Fight Night 59 takes place on January 18th in Boston with Conor McGregor vs Dennis Siver set to headline the event. A win for McGregor could lead to a title shot against Jose Aldo later next year.
