UFC Fight Night 48 and 49 Betting Tips

by Will Martin - @BIGBILBAR7MMA

So after a not so fruitful weekend betting on UFC Fight Night 47 I'm looking to bounce back with the two fight cards we have this weekend. First up in Macao, China we have England's own Michael "The Count" Bisping taking on former Strikeforce champion Cung Le in the main event and later the former UFC champion Benson Henderson takes on dangerous Brazilian Rafael Dos Anjos. The only bet which came through last week was Alan Jouban as a nice underdog however between the next two events there are at least 5 possibilities for an underdog pick so lets get into it.

Note, these tips are for guidance only. Please bet sensible and only if you can afford to lose - I will not be held responsible, if you lose you house, wife, dignity or self respect.

First bet up is a 5 fighter Parlay across both cards with 1 fight from China and 4 from Tulsa they are

Tyron Woodley 4/6
Jordan Mein 1/2
Chas Skelley 11/10
Beneil Dariush 4/5
James Vick 8/13

A bit of a risky bet with a few close fights especially with Dariush, Skelley and Woodley pays fairly well with a £5 stake the return it would get you is £76... very nice indeed but if you wanted a less riskier bet take Skelley out and pop in big favourite Benson Henderson for a healthy £50 return from a £5 stake.

I'm going to be looking at a treble next with 3 fighters with numerous victory's within the UFC

Michael Bisping 3/10
Max Holloway  1/4
Thales Leites     6/5

All three fighters are in dangerous fights here but this looks another good opportunity to cash in. Bisping faces the extremely dangerous Cung Le who has that 1 punch knockout power as we saw the last time Le fought in Macao against Rich Franklin. If Bisping can get through the first 2 rounds and avoid Le's kicking and unpredictable striking his superior gas tank and his underrated striking will come into play.

Holloway will be looking for another finish in the talent rich featherweight division, he is a very well rounded fighter who will take the fight anywhere and I really like a Holloway W in this one.

The toughest fight of the 3 is Thales Leites facing Francis Carmont in a middleweight encounter. I'm kind of baffled how Carmont is considered the favourite in this one as he is coming off 2 loses, while Leites enters with 3 wins in a row since returning back to the UFC which he has looked extremely relaxed and even better than before. In this fight Carmont is going to be looking at using his range and stay away from Leites who will most likely want to try and take this fight to the ground and use his deadly jiu jitsu game even though Carmont is very well versed on the ground and can frustrate you by laying on you but I can see a Leites decision here.

There is so many good underdog bets on these cards but this fighter is the one I like this week and that is Aaron Phillips as he faces Matt Hobar. Phillips is dropping down from Featherweight to bantamweight for the first time in his career. He is a very good kickboxer who likes to throw some great headkicks if he has improved his takedown defence he is in with a fantastic chance to take the victory here and at 13/8 the odds are very good.

So there are a few bets I hope come in and remember closer to the fights to check out the method of victory's that some betting websites will post as there is usually fantastic odds on these.
