Two new champions crowned in Dubai for ONE FC

The Dubai World Trade Centre played host an impressive ONE FC event as Shinya Aoki retained his ONE FC Lightweight World Championship in the event's main event. Elsewhere, both Ben Askren and Narantungalag Jamdambaa emerged as new world champions.

A clinical grappling performance from Shinya Aoki saw him successfully defend his ONE FC Lightweight World Championship against Kamal Shalorus, submitting the Iranian in the first round by rear naked choke.

Ben Askren flourished to take the Welterweight belt away from Nobutatsu Suzuki, taking less than two minutes to finish the fight, by landing an unprecedented amount of strikes on his grounded opponent.

In the only title fight to go the distance, Narantungalag Jadambaa emerged victorious over Kojo Oishi to capture the ONE FC Featherweight World Championship. Jadambaa controlled the fight for the majority, landing the cleaner shots, as well as the some impressive takedowns. Oishi seemed a shell of himself, and was never able to amount any real form of a comeback.

Roger Huerta got his first win in four years, defeating Christian Holley by knockout in the first round. Huerta used his superior grappling skills to take the fight to the ground and finished the fight with a barrage of punches.

James McSweeney continued his impressive run in ONE FC, knocking out Cristiano Kaminishi with a vicious soccer kick to what seemed to be the back of the head.

The main card opened with Herbert Burns grinding out the decision victory against an overwhelmed Hiroshige Tanaka.
